Yet I don't even think I ever got to try a Shirley Temple drink when I was a kid. ![]() Although she was even waaay before my time, I only knew about her because my Mom told me who she was. Soda: Modern Shirley Temples are made with white soda such as Sprite or 7UP. Like I said, I'm sure my kids have no idea who Shirley Temple was and probably don't really care. To make grenadine, bring pomegranate juice and sugar to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes, or until thick and syrupy.
